no longer the carmel color
of her youth, she is still the
true burlap lady. nor has she
the acrid smell of her youth,
though she is still pungent-
mellow and spicy. but not
the musk-musty smell of
death; she is the odor of a
newly spaded grave. it is now
April and we plant from seedlings
that will bloom fully in May,
June and July. Such is Mother
Nature and such are we who
plant and harvest.
